Will Kendrick Lamar Be Paid for His Super Bowl Halftime Performance?

Kendrick Lamar, who recently won a Grammy, is unlikely to be paid for his performance at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show on February 9.

The NFL traditionally does not pay artists for their performances. Instead, they cover all expenses and production costs. “We do not pay the artists, we cover expenses and production costs,” NFL spokesperson Joanna Hunter told Forbes back in 2016.

Despite not earning a paycheck, some of the biggest stars, including Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and Rihanna, have put in immense effort for what is essentially a free 15-minute concert. Even though artists don’t get paid, the Super Bowl halftime show remains a highly sought-after spot for performers.
