President Trump said Friday that he has no plans to deport Prince Harry, who currently resides in Montecito, California, with his wife, Meghan Markle.
“I don’t want to do that, I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She is terrible,” Trump said.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, has been pushing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to release information about Prince Harry’s immigration status. The group claims his visa may have been improperly granted after he admitted to drug use in his memoir Spare. While the DHS denied their request in 2023, a judge is still reviewing the case, according to the Associated Press.
In February last year, Trump accused President Biden’s administration of “protecting Harry” and stated he wouldn’t do the same if he returned to office. “He betrayed the queen. That’s unforgivable,” Trump told the U.K.’s Daily Express.
The royal couple has been critical of Trump in the past, with Markle calling him “divisive” and “misogynistic” during the 2016 election. Trump later responded by calling her comments “nasty.”
