A$AP Rocky’s legal team is pushing back against allegations that he fired a real gun at his former friend, A$AP Relli, during a 2021 altercation in Hollywood. Rocky, who faces two felony assault charges, could be sentenced to up to 24 years in prison if convicted.
The defense argues that Rocky only used a starter pistol, which fires blanks, and not a real firearm. To support this claim, they are calling rapper A$AP Twelvyy to testify, as he was present at the scene. The prosecution, however, has relied heavily on Relli’s testimony, asserting that Rocky did, in fact, fire a real gun.
Adding to the case’s complexity, recordings have surfaced where Relli allegedly suggests his goal is to get millions of dollars from Rocky. Relli denies the authenticity of these recordings, but the defense is using them to question his credibility.
Rocky declined a plea deal that would have resulted in 180 days in jail, opting instead to fight the charges in court. Meanwhile, his longtime partner, Rihanna, made an appearance at the trial, which has also attracted attention for Rocky’s bold fashion choices.
With the defense now presenting its case, the outcome remains uncertain. If the jury believes Rocky’s gun was fake, he could walk free—but if they side with the prosecution, he faces a serious legal battle ahead.
