Adele Announces Plans for a Long Break After Las Vegas Residency

Adele, the Grammy-winning singer known for her soulful voice and deeply personal lyrics, has announced she will be taking a substantial break from performing after the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency in November 2024. The news came during her concert in Munich, where she shared with fans that she’s ready to take some time off to enjoy the life she has been building for herself over the past several years.

“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it,” Adele told the audience, her voice filled with emotion. She hinted that this upcoming break could mean she won’t return to the stage for an “incredibly long time,” signaling a significant pause in her public performances.

The singer’s decision follows a series of personal and professional changes in recent years. In 2019, Adele and her former husband Simon Konecki announced their separation. Since then, she has been in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul, though she has kept details about their status private amidst rumors of an engagement.

Adele’s concert in Munich marked the final show of her 10-performance residency in the German city, a prelude to her final stretch of performances in Las Vegas. Her Las Vegas residency, “Weekends with Adele,” began in January 2022 and is set to conclude on November 23, 2024, with 10 more shows scheduled.

Throughout the concert, Adele expressed gratitude to her fans for their support over the past three years, during which she performed songs from her latest album, “30.” Reflecting on this period, she said, “It has been amazing, I just need a rest.”

This isn’t the first time Adele has taken a step back from the limelight. Historically, she has taken breaks from public life between album releases. Her most recent album, “30,” was released in 2021, six years after her previous album, “25,” which came out in 2015. In the past, she also took time off for throat surgery in 2011 and after the birth of her son in 2012.

In an interview with German broadcaster ZDF in July, Adele hinted at her desire to pause touring to explore “other creative things, just for a little while.” This upcoming hiatus seems to align with her past approach to balancing her personal life and career, emphasizing the importance of rest and creativity.

As Adele prepares to take this well-deserved break, fans will be left with her rich catalog of music and memories from her recent performances, eagerly awaiting her eventual return to the stage whenever that may be.
