BLACKPINK’s Lisa Takes on Her First Acting Role in The White Lotus Season 3

BLACKPINK’s Lisa is set to make her acting debut in season three of The White Lotus on HBO Max.

The HBO 2025 teaser trailer offers fans a first glimpse of the K-pop star as Mook, a resort manager who warmly greets guests with, “Welcome to The White Lotus in Thailand, ka.”

Scheduled to premiere next year, the third season was filmed in Thailand, marking a meaningful homecoming for Lisa, who has expressed excitement about showcasing the beauty of her homeland. In a recent interview with ELLE, Lisa reflected on her reaction to being cast by series creator Mike White, whom she praised as “a genius.”

“When I found out, I think I cried,” she revealed. “I was with my friends, my mom, and her friends, but I hadn’t told anyone I even auditioned. I’m super excited and nervous since it’s my first acting role. I was happy for a moment, and then I thought, ‘Oh, wait—how am I going to pull this off?’”

While new to acting, Lisa noticed parallels with her music video work, sharing, “It’s new, but it feels similar to shooting music videos…I can’t wait for my fans to see it.”

Filming in Thailand gave Lisa the chance to reconnect with her roots and enjoy Thai food every day. “I feel like people are going to fall in love with Thailand even more,” she added.

In addition to her acting venture, Lisa’s music career continues to thrive. In 2024, she released her single “Rockstar,” which debuted at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200, marking her first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. She has also since released tracks like the Rosalía-assisted “New Woman” and “Moonlit Floor.”

Alongside Lisa, BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé have collectively set records. Their collaboration “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, and in 2022, they made history as the first female K-pop group to top the Billboard 200 with their album Born Pink, which also reached No. 1 on the U.K. Albums Chart.
