BTS’s RM and V Officially Discharged from the Military, Greet Fans in Chuncheon

BTS’s RM and V were officially discharged from the South Korean military on June 10, 2025, completing 18 months of mandatory service and taking a significant step toward the long-awaited reunion of the full group.

The two stars greeted fans in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, in an event organized away from military bases for safety and crowd control.

RM, who served in the 15th Infantry Division’s military band, and V, who was part of the Special Task Force under the Army’s 2nd Corps, appeared together at Sports Park in Sinbuk-eup. They saluted in uniform before smiling and waving to around 200 fans who had gathered from around the world to welcome them back. Fans released balloons into the air in celebration, holding banners, light sticks, and personalized messages. Many had traveled from countries including Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, and Japan to witness the moment.

Ahead of the discharge, BIGHIT MUSIC, BTS’s agency, asked fans not to visit the military bases directly and instead coordinated a separate space for public greetings. The agency confirmed that Jimin and Jungkook will be discharged on June 11, while Suga, who is serving as a social service worker due to a prior shoulder injury, is scheduled to complete his duties on June 21.

With Jin and J-Hope having returned from service in 2024, all seven members of BTS will be out of the military by the end of this month. This marks the beginning of a highly anticipated chapter for the group, who paused activities as a full unit in 2022 to fulfill their national duties.

On social media, ARMYs flooded platforms with celebratory messages and videos.

The group’s reunion, now finally within reach, has sparked anticipation of a new era. With all members returning by late June, fans and media alike are watching closely for news of a full comeback.
