Sabrina Carpenter celebrated her first-ever MTV EMA win for Best Song with her track Espresso in a heartfelt message to fans. On Sunday, November 10, MTV’s official Instagram shared a pre-recorded video of Carpenter reacting to the exciting news.
Though she couldn’t attend the awards in person due to her Short n’ Sweet tour, Carpenter, 25, expressed her gratitude in the video. “Hi, EMAs, it’s Sabrina. I just found out that I won Best Song this year at the EMAs! This is my first award, so thank you so much for voting for Espresso,” she said, thrilled by the honor. “I’m so happy that you guys liked the song!”
The Taste singer wished the audience a wonderful night and explained her absence. “I wish I were there, but I’m on my Short & Sweet tour right now and have to go on stage.” She signed off warmly with, “I’ll be thinking about you all, and I can’t wait to see you soon. Thanks for all the love,” ending her message with a flying kiss.
Espresso, the lead single from Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, debuted at number ten on the Billboard Global 200, marking her first top-ten hit and fourth overall chart entry.
