Transgender Beauty Queen from Sikkim Set to Compete for Miss Universe India

Jackielynn Pradhan, a 21-year-old transgender woman from Jorethang, Sikkim, has made headlines after being crowned Miss Universe Sikkim 2025 — becoming the first trans woman to win the title.

She will now represent the state at Miss Universe India, marking a major step for LGBTQ+ visibility in Indian pageantry.

Her journey hasn’t been easy. Jackielynn faced bullying in school and societal stigma, but with the support of her parents, she pursued her dream of modeling. Competing against 45 contestants, she emerged victorious, breaking barriers and setting a new standard for inclusivity.

Though cyberbullying has followed her win, Jackielynn stands strong. “I represent not just my community, but all women from Sikkim,” she says.

With her eyes on the national crown, Jackielynn is more than just a beauty queen — she’s a symbol of progress and pride.
